Welcome Baby West!

By Micha

Okay, I just realized that my last post was in March. MARCH! It is now November! Zoikes where did all that time go?

I don’t have a recipe to share today, or even a tantalizing picture of food. You see, my diet is pretty restricted right now and my free time is even more restricted! How about we make a deal? I’ll share some photos of our little love if you share your favorite ‘I’m a nursing mom who is avoiding all dairy, soy, eggs, and wheat recipes’ :) Deal?

Okay then.

From top to bottom: 5 days old with papa, 3 weeks old with grandpa and papa, 2 months old.

congrats, baby is beautiful! i was dairy free for 8 months when i nursed my oldest. it was the only item i eliminated. i ate a lot of chicken salad sandwiches (but that won’t work for you as mayo is eggs, and even vegenaise has soy in it.) i am so sorry you have to live without eggs, that would break me.

i used rice milk for cereal/coffee. couldn’t tolerate it to drink. i got a lot of support on babycenter.com. they have a lot of bulletin boards and on is the food allergy board. many moms there have eliminated foods from their diet while nursing and could give you food lists. another board is the cooking for your family board. you could ask for recipes that are egg, soy, dairy, wheat. there. babycenter moms love to share tips and are very supportive.

look for a blogger who uses nourishing traditions recipes. those are bound to have alternative grains. also, passion4eating blogs about dairy free recipes, i think she has other FA issues with her kids, but can’t recall which they are. she posted a dairy/wheat free cookie recipe the other day. good luck with your elimination diet. it will be temporary and hopefully you eliminate the need to remove those items from kiddos diet later….
